Our Migrant Health Teams provide responsive health and wellbeing services for vulnerable migrants housed in temporary accommodations across Yorkshire. Services include initial health screenings, mental health assessments, facilitation of access to primary care, and education on navigating the NHS. The teams collaborate with third-sector partners to ensure comprehensive support for migrants.

Interim Accommodation – North Yorkshire

Bevan’s Interim Accommodation Support Team in North Yorkshire provides vital health and wellbeing support to individuals and families residing in asylum seeker hotels and other forms of temporary accommodation.

This multidisciplinary team—consisting of nurses, healthcare assistants, support workers, and occupational therapists—delivers initial triage, New Patient Health Checks, and comprehensive ongoing care to people newly arrived in the UK.

In North Yorkshire, Bevan also provides GP input, with individuals registered directly with our service. This allows for a continuity of care model that is responsive, compassionate, and tailored to the needs of marginalised communities.

In addition to clinical care, the team runs a variety of group sessions and integration activities designed to promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and support people in adjusting to life in the UK. These include peer support groups, orientation sessions, and recreational activities such as football, creating meaningful opportunities for connection and recovery.
