We are incredibly grateful for the support of our funding partners, without whom much of our work simply wouldn’t be possible. Thanks to their generosity and shared commitment to inclusion health, we’re able to deliver life-changing services to thousands of people experiencing homelessness, seeking asylum, or facing complex challenges that make accessing healthcare difficult. Whether it’s clinical outreach, wellbeing support, or specialist care for marginalised groups — every project we deliver is made possible through funding.
To all our funders: thank you. Your belief in our work creates real impact in real lives. If you or your organisation would like to explore partnership opportunities, please get in touch with:📩 mary.wishart@bradford.nhs.uk
Supporting our Evening Outreach for Sex-Working Women
We’re deeply grateful to the VCL Alliance and the Women’s Health Movement for their generous support of our Evening Outreach Project, which delivers vital healthcare to some of the most marginalised women in our communities — sex-working women who often face significant barriers to accessing traditional services.
Thanks to this funding, our Bevan Bus and mobile clinical team are now reaching women directly where they are, providing:
- Health checks
- Wound care
- Screenings and self-swab HPV testing (when available)
- Distribution of period products in collaboration with a period poverty initiative
- Non-judgemental, trauma-informed support
By operating in the community during the evening, we reduce stigma, build trust, and remove obstacles like scheduling conflicts — making healthcare truly accessible.
This project not only improves individual health outcomes, but also actively contributes to the goals of the “We Are Taking Women’s Health Seriously” movement: raising awareness about women’s health conditions, promoting education, and signposting to further support.
Together, we’re empowering women, amplifying voices, and creating safer, healthier communities for all.
A huge thank you to Leeds City Council for supporting our Stay Well This Winter project through their winter resilience grant programme. This funding is making a meaningful impact on the lives of people experiencing homelessness across the city.
With this grant, we are delivering two strands of support:
1. Winter Care Packs
In winter 2024 distributed over 150 tailored care packs to individuals facing homelessness in Leeds. Each pack included thermal clothing, hygiene essentials, high-protein food, and other vital winter survival items. These basic resources helped reduce the risk of cold-related illness and hospitalisation during the most dangerous time of year.
2. Creative Wellbeing Sessions
In addition to the care packs, we were able to offer drop-in art therapy sessions in warm indoor spaces. These sessions provided emotional respite and a safe space for expression, while also supporting mental health and connection. They offered a gentle entry point to wider health and wellbeing services.
A huge thank you to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority for awarding Bevan Community Benefit Society a grant to support active and sustainable travel. 🌿
Thanks to this funding, we’ve been able to invest in:
- 🚿 Showers and changing facilities
- 🚲 Pool bikes for staff
- 🦺 Safety equipment and insurance
These improvements are already making a meaningful difference. More of our team across Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield, and beyond are choosing to cycle or walk to work — boosting wellbeing, cutting emissions, and helping us become a greener, more sustainable organisation.
This grant aligns with our commitment to community health, environmental responsibility, and staff support. We’re proud to be reducing our carbon footprint while promoting healthy travel for all.
We’re incredibly grateful to Bradford2025 for supporting our Rekindle project through their creative grant funding. Thanks to this amazing support, we’re already seeing a powerful impact on the lives of marginalised men across Bradford District and Craven.
From woodworking and gardening to cultural trips and one-to-one support, Rekindle is helping men reconnect, rebuild confidence, and improve their mental health — one meaningful moment at a time. 💬🌱🛠️
This funding is helping us tackle isolation and health inequalities head-on, and we’re proud to be part of a city that invests in creativity, community, and connection.
Thanks to your generous support, our Heads Up football sessions are now up and running in Bradford and Wakefield, offering young asylum seekers and refugees the chance to play, connect, and feel part of a supportive community. ⚽💙

With your help, we’ve been able to provide refreshments, healthy snacks, and proper footwear—removing barriers so everyone can take part.
🗣 “This is the one time in the week I feel free and happy.”
🗣 “Thank you for giving us something positive. We feel seen and welcomed.”
We’re already seeing a positive impact on physical health, mental well-being, and community connection—and we’re just getting started!
We’re now actively planning to launch sessions in Calderdale, Leeds, and South Milford, and can’t wait to bring this project to even more people who need it most.

We’re incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting our Wellbeing for All project. Your funding has made a lasting difference in the lives of Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and care leavers in Bradford and Leeds.
Thanks to the support, we’ve been able to run tailored wellbeing activities—from co-designed exercise plans and peer-led walking groups to healthy eating workshops and confidence-building sessions. We are continuing to improve people’s physical and mental health, build stronger community connections, and feel a renewed sense of belonging.
Importantly, the funding has helped us remove barriers caused by the cost-of-living crisis by making these services accessible, free or low-cost, and community-led. It has empowered people facing real challenges to take control of their health and futures.
🙏 Thank you to all National Lottery players—your contributions are helping us build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
